Gary Lamont Goins, originally hailing from Newark, New Jersey, is the heartbeat of our musical sessions and recordings. Serving as the chief keyboardist and engineer. His musical journey began early, starting with the violin during his formative years. As he progressed to middle school, Gary joined the school band and discovered his passion for the trumpet. By the time he reached high school, Gary was already making waves in numerous big bands across Rochester.
His breakthrough came as a trumpeter with the world-renowned Voltage Brothers. But Gary’s talents didn’t stop there. When the Voltage Brothers needed a keyboardist, he seamlessly transitioned into this dual role, proving his versatility and dedication to the craft.
Gary’s musical odyssey has taken him far and wide. He has played alongside iconic groups such as The Delfonics, Major Harris, Philly Intruders, Blue Notes, PFunk Connection, and Steve Arrington, leaving an indelible mark on the music scene. Sharing the stage with legendary acts like Earth, Wind & Fire, The Whispers, Cameo, Ohio Players, Duke Ellington Orchestra, Frank Santana, and The O’Jays, Gary has become a respected figure in the industry.
Today, when he’s not gracing our recording studios, you’ll find Gary Lamont Goins on the road, captivating audiences worldwide. The Voltage Brothers, still going strong after more than 50 years, continue to be the heartbeat of his musical legacy.
